Introduction
An important part of building your Forento website is making sure visitors can easily navigate from your site to the academy. One way to do this is by adding a login/signup button on your website. The sign-up/log-in button will allow visitors to create an account on your academy or log in if they are existing members.
Finding your login/sign-up link
The first step in adding a login/sign-up button to your Forento website is locating the correct page to link to. Your login/sign-up page is hosted on your academy. To find it, open your Forento dashboard and click "My academy" in the left-hand menu.
The steps to locate the login/sign-up page will depend on your selected academy theme:
Modern theme: The sign-in option appears in the bottom left corner. If you're already logged in as an admin, you'll see a sign-out option instead.
Legacy theme: The login option appears in the top right corner. If you're already logged in, you'll see your username instead.
If you're signed in, log out first, then click the login button. This will take you to the login/sign-up page. Copy the URL from your browser’s address bar. If you want to create a button specifically for sign-ups, click the "Create account" button and copy that URL instead.

Adding the link to your website
When adding the login/sign-up link to your Forento website, you have two primary options. Most creators use both to ensure a smooth experience for visitors.
Option 1: Adding a button
You can place a button anywhere on your website to direct users to the login/sign-up page. Depending on your selected website template, you may already have a button you can edit.
To add a button:
Open the website editor.
Click "Elements" in the left-hand menu.
Drag the "BUTTON" element and place it on your website.
Once the button is placed, you can start editing. You can edit the style and settings of the button, but in this guide, we'll focus on adding the login/sign-up link. To do so:
Click the button on your website while in edit mode
Select the "Edit link" option
Select the "External" option, and then enter your copied link into the open slot
Check the boxes for "open in new tab" or "No Follow" options and click Save
Now, when visitors click the button, they’ll be taken directly to your login/sign-up page.
Option 2: Adding a link to the header menu
Most websites include a login link in the main header menu. This is where existing users log in and where new visitors can be encouraged to sign up.
To add your link to the main header menu:
Open your website editor and navigate to the Dashboard (found in the left-hand menu)
Click the "Pages" option
Hover next to any of your existing pages and press the "+" icon
When asked what type of page to add, select the "External page" option
Add a title (preferably "Login" or similar), paste the URL/link and click save
