Introduction
Your Forento website serves as the storefront window for your academy, showcasing your offerings in a way that attracts and engages potential customers. Unlike the academy itself, where users sign up, purchase, and access your products and courses, your website gives you full visual control, allowing you to create custom sales pages that highlight your products in the best possible way.
Using the Course Element (for courses only) – This element automatically pulls all published courses from your academy and displays them on your site, complete with thumbnails, titles, prices, descriptions, and call-to-action buttons linking to your academy. This is the easiest way to showcase your courses but it has fixed styling and layout limitations.
🚀 Pro Tip: Keep your course titles and descriptions similar in length to ensure a clean, well-aligned course display. Inconsistent lengths may cause misaligned buttons.
Manual Product Display (for full customization) – If you want more control over the design or need to display other products such as downloads, coaching sessions, events, or videos, you can manually add elements like images, text, and buttons to create a custom layout that fits your brand.
How to manually display products on your website
If you want more control over how your products are displayed beyond what the Course Element offers (or if you'd like to display a product that's not a course), you’ll need to set them up manually. This approach gives you complete creative freedom over the layout and design. In the example below, I’ve highlighted a single masterclass. If you have a larger selection of products, consider a layout similar to the Course Element, where multiple products are displayed in a single row to save space.
In my example, I’ve used an image element alongside two title elements, a paragraph element, and a button. The button is set up with an external link that directs users straight to the course page on my academy platform.
How to add links to buttons on your website
Adding a button that links directly to a course, downloadable, session, video, or event ensures a seamless experience for your visitors. The process is simple: first, grab the correct URL from your academy, then add it to a button on your Forento website.
Below, we’ll walk through an example using a course, but the same steps apply to any product or section in your academy.
Find the URL for Your Product
Open your Forento dashboard and click "My Academy" in the left-hand menu.
Navigate to the section containing your product (e.g., Courses, Downloadables, Sessions, Videos, or Events).
Click on the specific item you want to link to, and once on that page, copy the URL from your browser.
Add the Link to a Button on Your Website
Open the Website Editor in Forento.
Add a Button element (or select an existing one).
Click "Edit link", choose "External", and paste your copied URL.
Save your changes.
Optional: Link Directly to the Sign-Up Page
If you want users to go straight to the sign-up page for a product, log out of your academy first, and then click on the product and press the "Start Course" (or equivalent) button.
Copy the URL of the sign-up page, users clicking this link will be prompted to create an account before being redirected to the specific product.
Now, when visitors click the button, they’ll be directed exactly where you want them, whether it’s a course, downloadable, session, event, or any other product on your academy!
